Sun does more damage to a boat interior than anything you track onto it. Vinyl seats crack, dashboards fade, and the failure is slow enough that most owners do not notice until a seam splits. By then the fix is upholstery, not a bottle.
Interior care is not about how the boat looks on Saturday. It is about whether the vinyl is still supple in five years.
The silicone problem
Most interior products get their shine from silicone. While it may look good in the parking lot, it causes three problems on a boat: seats feel slippery or greasy, the surface attracts dust, and, most importantly, the silicone oils extract plasticizers in the vinyl causing them to wear prematurely and become brittle with age.

How to apply it
Mist
Spray directly onto the surface, or onto a clean microfiber towel for vertical panels, gauges, and anywhere overspray is unwelcome.
Wipe evenly
Work across the surface in one direction, flipping the towel as it loads up. Even coverage is what makes the UV protection uniform.
Buff
Dry microfiber, light pass, removes any excess. This is what leaves the streak-free matte finish rather than a patchy one.
The smell problem, solved

A realistic schedule
After every trip

Before storage
